About
On September 4th, 2008, I arrived with some other students to participate in a Japanese Buddhist Studies program. My home base for the next 3 months will be a small temple called Koshoji. In November I will conduct an independent study traveling all across the country. In December I plan on visiting Tokyo to see friends.
This blog will consist of journal entries, interviews, close readings of experiences, and photos, mostly.

Hi, Daniel, I noticed you’ve worked at Long Island Cafe. And I saw a YouTube video of Kyoto’s Long Island Cafe. The Long Island Cafe staff and customers might be interested in a Long Island Cafe video which I posted to YouTube. This Long Island Cafe is acroos from the University of Winnipeg, in Manitoba, Canada. Last year, I taught English in Hanoi, North Vietnam. A friend from Hanoi made and sent me a scarf, which I “demonstrate” in this video. At the beginning of the video, there is a quick shot of one of my Japanese students here in Winnipeg. So, here’s the link . . .

Dag homie, dag. It is good to see your face again, even if it is only in photos. Glad to see your still doing your thing. I wish I had a lot to say, because I feel your personage certainly warrants it, but at the moment I am at a loss for words. Love, I guess, lots of it. Respect too. Keep being you. Champion shit for real.
